Mise en scene

Mise en-scene from Great Baddow High School Media

Task 1:
- In a science fiction you may find spaceships, aliens and futuristic technology along with an outer space setting or a different planet.
- In a romantic Comedy you would expect to see a chocolates, warm colours such as red and orange, and flowers.
- In a horror film you would expect to see the undead, masks, blood and dark colours such as black to portray a demon-like setting

Facial Expressions and Body Language

Image 1:
- In this image it shows two very stunned character's who are intrigued into what they are watching and looking at. Dr Watson is very surprised with what he see through his frowning and Sherlock is very worried with what he is seeing through body language

Image 2:
- In this image it shows again 2 character who are in a situation as the older man is looking towards the door to see what is coming and the young man looks to be bleeding and therefore sees the call as being very important and so he looks focused.

Image 3:
- in this image it shows soldiers and an army officer standing on the battle field while there is chaos in the background. The soldiers seem to be disheartened through their body language and by hanging their heads down, while the main army officer is looking in shame through his facial expressions.

Positioning of Characters

Image 1:
- in this image it shows 2 characters siting on a coach with a considerable amount of space between them. this creates a sense of awkwardness and as normally people would stand closer to the people that they are more comfortable with mean that it is also am uncomfortable situation.

Image 2:
-in this picture it shows a freeze frame of an axe that is lodged into the ground, therefore it must have been put there with force which could suggest that it could of been thrown which is dangerous which could imply that the characters are in a dangerous situation.

Image 3:
- In this image it shows 2 men standing side by side from a downward angle making them seem much larger that they are in reality. this is to give the viewers the impression that these characters are more powerful than them viewers and seem to work as a team and are dangerous at the same time.

Gillette Advert

Gillette Advert
In the Gillette advert  it say that Gillette is "the best a man can get" making it seem as if you don't have a Gillette razor than you are not living to your full potential as a man. they do this by presenting a man using Gillette as being successful and being a good dad that has a great relationship with his child. this Cretans a brand image for Gillette that makes it seem as a ital part of any mans life and is necessary for growth emotionally and financially. It also shows multiple times throughout the advert a woman and man coming together making it seem as if you bought Gillette than you would attract females and have a great relationship.

Furthermore in the advert it shows a range of camera angles to make a man using Gillette as superior to others. an example of this is when hes finishing a race and the video is in slow motion while he is ahead of the other competitors showing as if he deserved his win and it was down to his use of Gillette. It continues to repeat the phrase "Gillette the best a man can get" throughout the entire video. it again uses different camera angles through the advert when the model is shaving it is a close camera shot in an attempt to show how sooth the cut is. So not only is it a great shaver it also makes you a better man supposedly.

Dancing animals premier

In this  practice video I used a plethora of transitions, video clips and special effects over the track by Jay Z "Heart of the City". what went well in this practice was performing the cuts between the stoppages of videos and trying to suit the footage to the music, this worked well and I inserted a lot of footage to make it look as unique and as possible and look smooth. However what I found challenging was trying to get the transitions to suit the footage best and on some occasions it didn't look very free flowing.
